After some thought I decided to make a card using bubble wrap to create a background, after all nothing has a more satisfying pop than bubble wrap!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoIbMnE-GRYwa6Jkn09I16RNg0of06OvymZUlmMG_KT75aKPZECyuy-hk23QH9bNjkP7i7F-8U-1Z0mAZ7OPrlHGwcL3w238hsdoEWGUklA51bCrrwvhBynlo2qsEyoDVgBxBfunkgQDo/s1600/IMG_0825.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoIbMnE-GRYwa6Jkn09I16RNg0of06OvymZUlmMG_KT75aKPZECyuy-hk23QH9bNjkP7i7F-8U-1Z0mAZ7OPrlHGwcL3w238hsdoEWGUklA51bCrrwvhBynlo2qsEyoDVgBxBfunkgQDo/s320/IMG_0825.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I started by masking an area using strips of torn paper. I then wrapped some bubble wrap around an acrylic block and stamped using twisted citron distress ink. I then used my Dutch Doobadoo burlap mask with my distress spritzer and a squeezed lemonade distress marker. The sentiment was a magazine freebie stamp.<br />
<br />
Thank you for visiting today, happy crafting.<br />

It's colour week and the challenge is to create a CAS card using pastel shades.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidNsYoEHmKrcgGHU33491ryUzMtyyqa1277vFQjnRCFVFYovtiGuk5fRApwskpPBU16V5gdRQjsPO6qzvtdZxW5T4WVrVvJLmDT6uYJw-WAI_1QBDOVkfZA9BIeXz2uSQi7gF0BY2KVho/s1600/IMG_0816.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidNsYoEHmKrcgGHU33491ryUzMtyyqa1277vFQjnRCFVFYovtiGuk5fRApwskpPBU16V5gdRQjsPO6qzvtdZxW5T4WVrVvJLmDT6uYJw-WAI_1QBDOVkfZA9BIeXz2uSQi7gF0BY2KVho/s320/IMG_0816.JPG" width="274" /></a></div>
<br />
For my card I gave my Tattered Lace 'Thanks' die another outing. The white panel was embossed using my Papertrey Ink linen embossing plate. The central strip was decorated using my Tim Holtz distress marker spritzer with my Dutch Doobadoo burlap mask and a lilac Promarker.<br />
<br />

I didn't manage to take part in last week's LIM challenge, as my cardmaking and blogging had to take a bit of a back seat due to other things that were happening, so I was determined to take part this week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmayticUq-LLTFQkwH3Nr-Wtu5ZsbYs0X-Jzxxvbu6ujEBSOWz0aJP45V4WMLn6fq1iY530TplZ7XKk8GfhtsY4CojUXkK1Z_o0Q9RSsl0aXBga_9koQDiQAMrZUCWvUaTnRwBHnJPV3c/s1600/IMG_0784.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmayticUq-LLTFQkwH3Nr-Wtu5ZsbYs0X-Jzxxvbu6ujEBSOWz0aJP45V4WMLn6fq1iY530TplZ7XKk8GfhtsY4CojUXkK1Z_o0Q9RSsl0aXBga_9koQDiQAMrZUCWvUaTnRwBHnJPV3c/s320/IMG_0784.JPG" width="277" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div>
The papers I used were Sizzix Little Sizzles Watercolours, they've been in my crafting stash forever so are probably no longer available. The word die is by Tattered Lace, I cut the word a couple of times in black card as well as the orange paper and layered them up. I also used my SSS stitched circles and stitched squares dies and the linen card is from Papermill.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I actually had a lovely surprise the other day when I discovered that I'd been chosen as the April Winner at Less is More, it's really made my week.</div>

For my card I used a stamp from Paper Smooches Positive Strokes, a stamp from Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type and I believe the bird on a wire stamp is Hero Arts. The inks are all Memento.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div>
For my card I used an old Hero Arts stamp, it was wood mounted but I mounted it on EZ mount instead. I used my Misti and stamped it in 3 stages using yellow, orange and red Memento ink. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set. I made my card 4 bar size, 3 1/2" x 4 7/8", which is a nice size for a little notelet.</div>

The recipe this week is to show what's outside your window. I often sit looking out of my living room window at a large tree which is close to our house and this was what I wanted to include in my card. I remembered a Hobbycraft tree stamp I had which had never seen ink and decided now was the time to use it.<br />
I'm also entering my card for this month's challenge at <a href="http://houseofcardschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/march-challenge-silhouette.html" target="_blank">House of Cards</a> where the code word is silhouette.<br />

Firstly this week's challenge at <a href="http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/week-267-one-layer-sentiment.html" target="_blank">Less is More</a>, where the challenge is to make a one layer card with the sentiment as the main focus.<br />
Secondly the <a href="http://onelayersimplicitychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/ols25-let-green-march-in.html" target="_blank">One-Layer Simplicity Challenge</a>, where the challenge is to create a card using shades of green and one other neutral.<br />

<br />
For my card I used what I think is my favourite mask of the moment, my Dutch Doobadoo Burlap Mask. I used this along with my Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer and a Twisted Citron Distress Marker. I also used my Memory Box Chloe Stem Die, which I was quite pleased about as it has been sitting unused in my craft cupboard since I bought it ages ago! I actually cut the stem out three times and layered it up to give a bit of depth. The sentiment is from the Fiskars Petals From Scratch set and I cut out the black circle using a die from the Die-namics Blueprints 13 set.<br />

Clearly Besotted Sweet Little Sentiments<br />
Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Soft Pool & Memento ink in Tuxedo Black<br />

<br />
Here is my card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_2MStGZ_zQUF3yTvJmGgQoy3ICqg4nJojDY5L7e6_RofQt6SKc07zIZiHoWzZJESd9bi4z799mJLMiLMwml94YtcQuw5nevl4_jiUg63KVsFLLfHQm_nJT1F-lHk-oFKSoHWt5HgdVIU/s1600/IMG_0666.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_2MStGZ_zQUF3yTvJmGgQoy3ICqg4nJojDY5L7e6_RofQt6SKc07zIZiHoWzZJESd9bi4z799mJLMiLMwml94YtcQuw5nevl4_jiUg63KVsFLLfHQm_nJT1F-lHk-oFKSoHWt5HgdVIU/s320/IMG_0666.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
To make my card I used a Dutch Doobadoo Burlap mask along with my Distress Marker Spritzer and an Abandoned Coral Distress Marker. The image was a Hobbycraft own brand stamp and the sentiment was from the Fiskars Petals From Scratch set. To finish off the card I added a couple of small black pearls.<br />

As I was making my card I thought of several cards based on this sketch, so it's definitely one I will use again.<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch<br />

I did make a challenge card the other week, but then didn't upload it!<br />
<br />
This week's sketch at <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/freshly-made-sketches-209-sketch-by-jen.html">Freshly Made Sketches</a> is one that can be interpreted in a number of ways. When I saw it I had a number of ideas, but in the end I went for quite a CAS card using the inlaid die cut technique.<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdGIwAParFyRAmo1vzW9INM3gjAGUrg-2Z5VTj488-ipHrvOzbumJu48I_MyFJ_X4XoKM7TyV2yy8CphJUywCGZhAo7Paz64aNtNaUuYek1Xl70qDR-IXmf1CTaGKyBQzcafcjEcosRzY/s1600/IMG_0546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdGIwAParFyRAmo1vzW9INM3gjAGUrg-2Z5VTj488-ipHrvOzbumJu48I_MyFJ_X4XoKM7TyV2yy8CphJUywCGZhAo7Paz64aNtNaUuYek1Xl70qDR-IXmf1CTaGKyBQzcafcjEcosRzY/s320/IMG_0546.JPG" width="228" /></a></div>
<br />
and here is my card<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

For my card I used the Snowflake Trio Die Collection and Sweet Little Sentiments, both from Clearly Besotted.</div>

For the challenge I decided to make a teacher thank you card, although I'll definitely be using the sketch for other cards.<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpDULJiiXUa6PRQ6Y2NRpDAuLdqGiHJuTpzjRpsSyBKyK3bwYceLVJQrM_7dorqiRfCvvHK1D9UbpV4uEhfVrH2953pziw8t15ZvBrualgBcz5DGzTS5cYRBJOqiQ87MoWz637ieAoaG8/s1600/IMG_0492.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpDULJiiXUa6PRQ6Y2NRpDAuLdqGiHJuTpzjRpsSyBKyK3bwYceLVJQrM_7dorqiRfCvvHK1D9UbpV4uEhfVrH2953pziw8t15ZvBrualgBcz5DGzTS5cYRBJOqiQ87MoWz637ieAoaG8/s320/IMG_0492.JPG" width="226" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
and here is my card</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqVQIJOimlFz0S1wvcLCCzN9Tezzq4io1GXVd_3R7L7VoHUGhIpZ5p6PqTIHKDhhJcIgk6YMJ5P0zg1cDLz7UtA5-9UImHumzGFlC4DgcPdH0k4sCr3nwWCbEAJyjYxWA1f6zt77e1v_s/s1600/IMG_0489.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqVQIJOimlFz0S1wvcLCCzN9Tezzq4io1GXVd_3R7L7VoHUGhIpZ5p6PqTIHKDhhJcIgk6YMJ5P0zg1cDLz7UtA5-9UImHumzGFlC4DgcPdH0k4sCr3nwWCbEAJyjYxWA1f6zt77e1v_s/s320/IMG_0489.JPG" width="259" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For my card I used my trusty old Sizzix apple die, it tends to come out at this time of year for teacher thank you cards. I also used my Papertrey Ink linen embossing plate, my Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX and my SSS stitched squares dies. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set.</div>
