CAS(E) this Sketch #150

I love this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. As I was making my card I thought of several cards based on this sketch, so it's definitely one I will use again.

Here is the sketch

I used my Clearly Besotted snowflake die and the sentiment is also from Clearly Besotted.
To finish the card I added a few score lines and gems.

Freshly Made Sketches #209

Thought it about time I took part in a challenge and uploaded it to my blog. I did make a challenge card the other week, but then didn't upload it!

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is one that can be interpreted in a number of ways. When I saw it I had a number of ideas, but in the end I went for quite a CAS card using the inlaid die cut technique.

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

For my card I used the Snowflake Trio Die Collection and Sweet Little Sentiments, both from Clearly Besotted.

CAS(E) this Sketch #132

I just love this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and when I saw it I thought of several cards I could make. For the challenge I decided to make a teacher thank you card, although I'll definitely be using the sketch for other cards.

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

For my card I used my trusty old Sizzix apple die, it tends to come out at this time of year for teacher thank you cards. I also used my Papertrey Ink linen embossing plate, my Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX and my SSS stitched squares dies. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set.

Freshly Made Sketches #187 & Less is More Week 225 Recipe

Another great sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I loved the shape of the panel in the sketch and decided to use it in my card, using a small circle die to shape the corners.

For the butterfly I used a magazine freebie die which I've had for a while. I added antennae to the butterfly using a stamp from the Clearly Besotted Butterfly Wishes set and 2 tiny black gems. For the sentiment I used the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set and my Stampin' Up punch. I also added 2 eyelets to my sentiment. I was thinking earlier this week that it was about time I used some eyelets and then I saw that the challenge this week at Less is More is to create a card using some metal, one of the suggestions being to use eyelets. I'm therefore entering my card for this week's challenge at Less is More. The paper I used is Bookprint by Papermania. I also used some self-adhesive paper lace, pearls and larger black gems. For the base card I used cream linen card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #123

I love this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.
As I like using stars on cards I decided on a literal interpretation of the sketch.

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

For the central panel I sponged distress inks in peacock feathers and salty ocean through plasterer's tape. For the star I used inlaid die cuts. The white star I decorated with a little Lavinia stamp and the peacock feathers distress ink. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted's sentimental type set and I stamped it using Memento ink in Paris Dusk.

CAS(E) this Sketch #122

I'm back with my second post of the day. This time I'm sharing the card I made for this week's challenge at CAS(E) this sketch.

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

The papers I used have been in my crafting stash for years, as has the magic mesh that I used over one of the paper strips. For the flowers I used my old daisy punch. The sentiment is a Hobbycraft stamp.
This is a really versatile sketch and as I was making this card I was thinking of other cards I could make based on this sketch.

Thank you for visiting today, I really appreciate you stopping by. Karen x

Sovushka Slavia MASTER CLASS "Disguise stamp cutting"

I really wanted to try this technique when I saw it, but I haven't had much crafting time recently and it took me a few attempts before I came up with a finished card.
I did originally try a watercolour background, but in the end I decided to go with distress inks applied with my ink dusters.

So here is my card

The distress inks I used were barn door, rusty hinge and wild honey.
The word die is from Clearly Besotted and the 'happy' is from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set.

Sovushka Slavia CASEing # 2

Thought I would have a go at a different challenge and decided on this one at Sovushka Slavia Blogspot.

The challenge was to come up with a card based on the gorgeous card above, which was created by May Sukyong Park.

For my card I decided to use the idea of masking a central area for the sentiment.

Here is the card I came up with

I used a star shaped mask and sponged distress inks through plasterer's tape. The distress inks I used were Barn Door, Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge. The little stars and splatters were created using a Lavinia stamp. The sentiment was from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set.

Freshly Made Sketches #175

Thought it about time I did another challenge and decided on this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. I also needed to make a first birthday card for my friend's granddaughter so decided to combine the two.
Here is the sketch and the card I came up with.

The really sweet bear image is from Dovecraft's Furry Friends set. The paper, ribbon and bow are docrafts Forever Friends. I also used my new Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle dies. The sentiment was computer generated using Connie font, I think!

At last I'm back with another card, it seems to have taken me a while to get out of Christmas card mode!
A friend has asked me to make her some new baby cards, so I thought I'd see what I could come up with using the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

For the onesie I used a Clearly Besotted stamp and matching die, the circle was cut with a SSS die, the sentiment is from a Personal Impressions set and the papers are Pink Petticoat.
