Less is More #277

The theme this week at Less is More is something that pops or bangs. After some thought I decided to make a card using bubble wrap to create a background, after all nothing has a more satisfying pop than bubble wrap!

I started by masking an area using strips of torn paper. I then wrapped some bubble wrap around an acrylic block and stamped using twisted citron distress ink. I then used my Dutch Doobadoo burlap mask with my distress spritzer and a squeezed lemonade distress marker. The sentiment was a magazine freebie stamp.

Thank you for visiting today, happy crafting.

Less is More #275

It's been one of those weeks again, but I've just managed to complete I card in time for this week's challenge at Less is More. It's colour week and the challenge is to create a CAS card using pastel shades.

For my card I gave my Tattered Lace 'Thanks' die another outing. The white panel was embossed using my Papertrey Ink linen embossing plate. The central strip was decorated using my Tim Holtz distress marker spritzer with my Dutch Doobadoo burlap mask and a lilac Promarker.

Thank you for visiting my blog, I'd love it if you were able to leave a comment.

Less is More #274

The challenge this week at Less is More is to create a card using designer paper in a CAS style. I didn't manage to take part in last week's LIM challenge, as my cardmaking and blogging had to take a bit of a back seat due to other things that were happening, so I was determined to take part this week.

The papers I used were Sizzix Little Sizzles Watercolours, they've been in my crafting stash forever so are probably no longer available. The word die is by Tattered Lace, I cut the word a couple of times in black card as well as the orange paper and layered them up. I also used my SSS stitched circles and stitched squares dies and the linen card is from Papermill.

I actually had a lovely surprise the other day when I discovered that I'd been chosen as the April Winner at Less is More, it's really made my week.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Less is More #272 & Freshly Made Sketches #232

I thought I would combine this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches with this week's challenge at Less is More, where the theme is to make a card using 3 stamps.

For my card I used a stamp from Paper Smooches Positive Strokes, a stamp from Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type and I believe the bird on a wire stamp is Hero Arts. The inks are all Memento.

Less is More Week 271

It's one layer week at Less is More and the theme is geometric shapes or patterns.

For my card I used an old Hero Arts stamp, it was wood mounted but I mounted it on EZ mount instead. I used my Misti and stamped it in 3 stages using yellow, orange and red Memento ink. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set. I made my card 4 bar size, 3 1/2" x 4 7/8", which is a nice size for a little notelet.

Less is More Week 270

This week's challenge at Less is More is to create a card where the white space isn't white.

For my card I used my SSS stitched squares dies and my Memory Box Chloe stem die, inlaying the stem into the square.

I'm also linking my card to the current challenge at Addicted to CAS where the code word is inlaid die(s).

Less is More week 268

I'm a little late with my card for this week's challenge at Less is More, but it's been one of those weeks. The recipe this week is to show what's outside your window. I often sit looking out of my living room window at a large tree which is close to our house and this was what I wanted to include in my card. I remembered a Hobbycraft tree stamp I had which had never seen ink and decided now was the time to use it.
I'm also entering my card for this month's challenge at House of Cards where the code word is silhouette.

Less is More Week 267 & OLS25

The card I'm sharing today is one I'm linking to 2 challenges.
Firstly this week's challenge at Less is More, where the challenge is to make a one layer card with the sentiment as the main focus.
Secondly the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge, where the challenge is to create a card using shades of green and one other neutral.

The feather stencil and the sentiment stamp I used were both part of the same magazine freebie. I inked through the stencil using my Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer and a Twisted Citron Distress Marker.

Freshly Made Sketches #225

Another great sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

For my card I used what I think is my favourite mask of the moment, my Dutch Doobadoo Burlap Mask. I used this along with my Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer and a Twisted Citron Distress Marker. I also used my Memory Box Chloe Stem Die, which I was quite pleased about as it has been sitting unused in my craft cupboard since I bought it ages ago! I actually cut the stem out three times and layered it up to give a bit of depth. The sentiment is from the Fiskars Petals From Scratch set and I cut out the black circle using a die from the Die-namics Blueprints 13 set.

Less is More Week 264

The challenge this week at Less is More is to add texture to your card. As always there is great inspiration from both the design team and those taking part in the challenge.

To add texture to my card I embossed the die cut flower using my Dutch Doobadoo Burlap Mask. I like doing this as it's a good way of getting more use out of your masks.

For my card I used the following
Dutch Doobadoo Burlap Mask
Die-namics Blueprints 3
Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grunge stamp set
Clearly Besotted Sweet Little Sentiments
Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Soft Pool & Memento ink in Tuxedo Black

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Hope you have a happy, creative day. Karen x

CAS(E) this Sketch #159

A great sketch and great inspiration this week at CAS(E) this Sketch.

Here is the sketch

I embossed the front of my card with the Xcut Quilting embossing folder. For the sentiment I used the Paperbabe Stamps Happy Thoughts set. For the butterflies I used the Clearly Besottted Butterfly Wishes set and matching dies. When I attached the butterflies I used a glue dot in the centre and foam pads on the wings. I cut the black strip using a die from the Avery Elle Dotted Borders Die set. To finish I added small black pearls to the butterflies. The inks I used were both Memento, Rose Bud and Tuxedo Black.
